My software is even from the last millenium, Nancy, nevertheless frames are definitely outdated for less than 3 years now (HTML 5 was published oct. 2014). But: 1. We agree about frames. Yes. I'm late to get rid of them. I know WHY and I once WILL get rid of them. Sorry, some of my posts may look like frames where the issue. It' s only part of the issue: (Where) can I find loved features from a 1997 software in actual DW? 2. We might talk about different issues: The problem - as described in my original post - is: I'd like to klick through my website like a browser and edit it at the same time. A click on a link (should open) the linked page (to) continue editing. (Part of the problem: I will have to edit a website in frames for a transitional period while working on the frameless relaunch) DW can't help, your explanation: "it works not that way". I understand. Please allow my personal assessment: I still think it is not the worst for an actual (2017) program to open editable linked pages. DW does open connected/included pages like .css or .php even automatically. 3. We do have a misunderstanding about Microsoft. I'm talking about a recently removed feature in Win7pro known as "XP-Mode". I bought this OS as (more expensive) professional edition three years ago just because of this feature. A couple of weeks ago suddenly XP-Mode stopped working. According to my dealer MS removed it irretrievably using Window's update-function. I never used nor mentioned MS Frontpage. 4. My problem is solved meanwhile: I found software (freeware!) that has the wanted feature included. I will now go on editing my page with this until my skills on DW and responsive design are good enough to relaunch the whole site without frames. I'm working on it. And therefor I'm actually using a simple source-code-editor. Source code editing is indeed not the way for a dayly update. Finally: I was looking for help, which is not there, I understand. But "buy an iPhone" is just as little a solution for a beginner's android problem as "get rid of frames" helps handling these. I have no desire to further justify my problem.
