I now have the 'Layer' panel open in the 'Window' menu item for oone of my images in PS. All that I can see is the 'Baclground' layer. I do see an otption to create a new layer [??] ... Will that wllow me to crop/resize the image? nWhat other actions shall I look for, or take??

I have been successfully cropping my images on PS v. 24.5.0 for many days. Now I have an image in which the crop option is disabled, both in DNG, PSD and JPF formats. I have no clue as to what is going on. Earlier I needed to resize an image to make it smaller, but PS appeard to have left the canvas at the original size. When I tried resizing the canvas, it turned green and became larger! Any ideas appreciated. Best, jwc

Thanks. In the meantime, I found that in m iMac, when the image is saved, it can thenc examined with Apple's ‘Finder’ app, where file size is displayed alongside the file name. ...

Y., darag & drop works. but no list of apps appears; theimage onlu shows up in muy 'Preview' app. Dragging U& dropping into the PS iton does, however, work fine. I guess I can workwith that system while in GA; will see what hapens uapon return to FL in ~6 mo. Tks, jwc

When I bring up an image file in PS v. 24.5, the file sie is not displayed, only the image width and height in pixels. Wodering if there is an algorithm/formula for converting pixel dimensions to file size?? Best, jwc

'Right-clicking an image using 'Open with' does not work correctly. Double-clicking the image results in only a static display in the 'Preview' app on my iMac. I cannot edit ithe image within Photoshop. Any ideas appreciated.

I have a different, but perhaps related question. Eaelrie this afternoon \the Photoshop Crop Tool develped an anomali, wherein, upon cropping to a sepcified size, the corpped image dissapeard entirely. I can locate id by magnifying thescreenmultiple eimts, until the barest minimum image appears. I tried to clear this bu uninstalling an d rinstalling Photowshop v. 2.0.2.1. That did not help. The same behavior recurred. I am litterlly at wits' end, ttying yo fix thi. Any ideas from any of you would be gratefully appreciated. Best, jwc

Has been a while since active use of P:hotoshop. Please remind me of est tools to select a, odd geometry in an image containing various colors, and opened in Photoshop. Believe I successfully used magnetic selection tool in the past? Just tried, without success. Has something changed?

After typing >115 pages into my inDesign document, text flow suddenly stopped functioning. If anyone knows how this happend and how to fix it, I would appreciate hhearing from you. This happened to me once before. I had some good support from Adobe via telephone, but cannot reach them now. Support via telphone seems to have been terminated?

My document (saddle-stitched calendar) has been repeatedly, successfully published in past years. Now however, I cannot get a good cover template that works. The binding isshown as vertical [rather than horizontal as needed]. I have tried both 11 x 8.5 and 8.5 x 11, but am unable rotate the template beccause object rotation functions are disabled. Something is amiss here. Any ideas appreciated, as always, Is telephone support no longer available? jwc

Currently I'm typing new text into an old, saved copy of the document. So, far, it is behaving normally. I have only 2-3 -pp, to retype, and text flow is proceeding normally. Wish me luck, and thanks to all.

Closing and restarting inDesign by deleting all preferences [as advised in an an old note] did not help; still no text threads are seen.

Answer to Bevi's reply: Not sure; believe I am using the auto-flow method. When I view my page master, the text flow line appears on spread master, running from bottom of first page to top of second page. But those flow lines no longer appear in document pages created from that master spread. Further update: SNAFU now getting worse. Text flow lines suddenly apeared [due to random keystroke?] on even pages, but spanning pages 10 pp, apart. Furthermore, text from page 86 [of 95] has been overset on top of that on page 85. Next step: revert to an old, saved version, save to brand new version, copy/paste from defective version to newer one, see how that goes.

After 95 pages of satisfactory text entry [except once about 6 w. when I had a simlar issue but do not remember {and lost my notes about} how Adobe help fixed ift for me], today I am finding that (a) again, text is no onger flowing from the last page to the next, (b) text threads are not displayed when I select view | extras | text flow threads, and (c) when I look at the page master from which my pages were created, a ext thread occurs only after I re-create the text box on the first of two facing master pages, but still (d) no text hreads occur within any facing pages based on that master. Since my original post, I have tried restarting inDesign, restarting my iMac and openiong a duplicate, 8-day-old copy of the same document, into which I pasted content from 'Document 1' [in original post] with 'paste and match style', one page at a time, until the last page, when the same problem reappeared. So now, I'm somewhat at a loss. Unless I hear from one of you in the next 60-90 minutes, I intend to uninstall and reinstall inDesign.

After typing away on an existing document containing page masters wotj text flow enabled, suddenly, fo no apparent reason, that feature has gone away, and a red 'oberflow' box appears near the lwer right corner of the page. I vewed oextras | show text threads, and they do not appear. So apparently, inadvertantly, I disabled the text threading. If one of you would please show me how to re-enable txt threads, I would be greatful.

In my new document I have an 'A Master', and then created a 'B Master', and applied that to a 2-p. spread. However, I cannot edit _properties_ of the 'B Master' so that it can be applied to multiple pages in my document. I have followed the Adobe video on this subject, but found it not applicable to my issue. Any help appreciated, as always, jwc

In Adobe Bridge, when I try to right-click to open a jpg image with Adobe Camera Raw, the above message is sent, followed by: 'Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature'. If one of you would please explain the meaning of this, and show me how I can fix it, I would be very grateful. jwc
