Hi Aadesh - thanks for the response.  The suggestions above did not work.  Please allow me to start over.  For the exact same PDF files that I was previously able to export to .xlsx, they are no longer exporting.  So if the file format was supported previously, it should be exporting correctly today as well. I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as you suggested, and I have performed the export from there.  I have also performed the export directly from the online version of ExportPDF, and neither of these is allowing me to export the files I need to export.
