I now found a workaround that's producing something that is, well, rather close the intended result …   The reference frame is still is ignored, yet rendered. So, I duplicated the created matte sequence and shifted an adjacent frame from that sequence above the reference image and finally hid the reference image:     Yet, that's not what I intended. The automatic dissolve algorithm didn't even come close dissolving as good as the reference image.       Allow me to be frank: The current implementation of Content Aware Fill in After Effects is crap:   The reference image is ignored and there is no input field available in the Content Aware Fill panel for designating reference frames to the Content Aware Fill algorithm. I am unable to edit the reference image once it's created. I am forced to manually find the file, manually open it in PhotoShop and then finally manually update the AE reference in the project. Masks are not being tracked:   I don't know if mask tracking actually has been implemented. Yet, if it existed, I would not be able to edit the mask tracking keys as there are no keys inserted into the masks' timelines. The whole Content Aware Fill process is far too much of a black box: I am neither able to preview nor am I able to provide hints before or to edit the generated paths after analysis. Even worse: The Content Aware Fill process in the version I'm using (24.5.0) is suffering from a severe memory leak. I have 128 GB of RAM. Running the Content Aware Fill process less than ten times renders my machine inaccessible: After Effects is then displaying "Out of memory" numerous times and I'm not able to gracefully shut down anything. ... From my point of view, the requirement of installing a minor version instead of the full-fledged version first seems to be a quirk in the program code …   Currently, I'm researching on how to set the path manually, without installing the light version first. I think I found the reason why this solution isn't working for me: If you look at my source composition above, you will notice it's only 1 sec in length. That's all there is. Yes, you are right. The other way around is the issue here. You are not able to import a Premiere Pro sequence into After Effects for further editing and refinement.   Plus, the programs don't actually interact with their data. Although this is an old one: In Audition there's a preference setting now to automatically un-solo other tracks when solo-ing a track. The behaviour may be altered with a modifier key. I wish, Premiere Pro had the same feature. According to programmers' style guides for other programs, I'm used to single-select when clicking and multi-select when SHIFT/CTRL clicking. Thanks a lot to all for sharing your thoughts on this!   As you may see from my screenshot, the artboards created from my PDF file were created side by side. Simply rescaling them would have left them and their (vector) content overlapping.   In the end I came to the conclusion that re-scaling in Illustrator would involve too many manual steps. So I came up with the idea to re-scale my PDF file using Adobe Acrobat by printing it to a new PDF file choosing the "fit" printing option and selecting "DIN A3" as target size.   ... View more
