    Hi everyone,

I have an update from the Photoshop team. A fix for this color-rendering issue is now available in the latest Photoshop Beta v27.12 and is planned for an upcoming Photoshop update.

For users on non-HDR displays who are still seeing the incorrect color, please turn off Preferences > Technology Previews > Precise Color Management for HDR Display. This is currently required to achieve correct color rendering on affected non-HDR setups, even with the fix in the Beta.

If you are using an HDR display or have HDR enabled at the operating-system level, please keep this setting enabled.

Thank you, everyone, for the detailed reports and testing.

    Best regards,
    Anshul Saini

Η επιλογή Precise Color Management for HDR Display ήταν ήδη απενεργοποιημένη. Αφού επέστρεψα στην έκδοση 27.9.1, τα χρώματα εμφανίζονται κανονικά και το Liquify λειτουργεί φυσιολογικά, με το Use Graphics Processor ενεργό.

I was pulling my hair for 3 hours this morning when this started happening to me. I went through god knows how many suggestions from Gemini that didn’t work, uninstalled/reinstalled Photoshop, rebooted the computer multiple times, redid my monitor profiling, did all the recommended settings updates, nothing worked except disabling the GPU completely in Photoshop, which is not a solution. Finally found this thread which led me to the answer -- it is a bug in this version of Photoshop. I can confirm the previous version (27.9.1) is stable!

I’m on Windows 11, custom monitor profile, Nvidia 4070Ti, BenQ SW270C. Photoshop version with the issue is 27.10, 27.9.1 is fine. Steps to reproduce: select any image from Lightroom and edit as a tiff in Photoshop, it will open and the colors are more saturated and not accurate. Issue is only present in Photoshop main window; if I add a Camera Raw Filter, it looks normal in Camera Raw.

I’ll just add my report here:

Issue summary: Canvas colors become oversaturated and brush/cursor movement causes color flickering when GPU acceleration is enabled together with a custom monitor ICC profile.
Product and version: Photoshop desktop version 27.10.0
Operating system: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.6199)
Device: Gigabyte AERO 15 XD, Intel Core i7-11800H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU (latest Studio Driver installed)
Monitor profile: Custom ICC profile "GGG_SDC4143.icc" (laptop display profile)
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open an existing TIFF document with the custom monitor ICC profile (GGG_SDC4143.icc) active in Windows display settings.
    2. In Photoshop, go to Preferences → Performance and enable "Use Graphics Processor."
    3. Compare the canvas colors to the same file opened in an external viewer (e.g., Windows Photo Viewer).
    4. Move the brush tool or cursor across the canvas.
Expected result: Canvas colors should match the file as shown in an external viewer, regardless of whether GPU acceleration is on, and there should be no flickering during cursor/brush movement.
Actual result: Canvas colors appear noticeably oversaturated compared to the external viewer, and brief color flickering occurs when moving the brush/cursor.
    Additional diagnostic notes:
    • Disabling "Use Graphics Processor" in Preferences → Performance immediately resolves both issues — colors then match the external viewer exactly.
    • Re-enabling GPU acceleration with the ICC profile active reproduces both issues again.
    • Enabling Windows HDR mode automatically disables the custom ICC profile system-wide. With HDR on (and the ICC profile removed), GPU acceleration can be re-enabled without oversaturation or flickering.
    • This confirms the issue is specifically an interaction between GPU-accelerated canvas rendering and this custom monitor ICC profile — not a general GPU incompatibility (the built-in GPU Compatibility check reports "GPU is compatible").
Workaround currently in use: GPU acceleration disabled in Preferences → Performance.

100% this is correct. I’ve just changed to a new computer and thought I was doing something wrong after calibrating etc.
Nope, I rolled back a couple of versions and it corrected it immediately. Hours and hours wasted.

just to say, disabling this doesnt actually make any difference, it still happens. to see it very clearly, pressing F to cycle between different views show the shift very evidently.  A flash of dark and too saturated, then it corrects to a degree, but when you reach full screen mode and the canvas isnt visible, that shift stays until you move away from full screen view

    1. the photo in Lightroom.
    2. the photo in Chrome coming from Lightroom via Adobe Portfolio All is OK
    3. The Color Profile is ProPhoto when going to Adobe
    4. The photos in Adobe with reds that are more saturated. This is the problem
    5. The color screen that shows that Adobe is supposed to keep the ProPhoto. And by the way, if you look at the photo, it is with a ProPhoto color profile

When back to the previous version of PS. No more issues

    I have a question.

After downgrading to version 27.9, I can only see the problematic version 27.10 available in my account's updates, but not version 27.11.

If I want to wait for the stable version 27.12, will I still have to install versions 27.10 and 27.11 first in order to see the update become available?
