Although I can't make out what they say, it would appear that you have three buttons at the bottom of the slide. The default behavior of a button is to stop playback of a slide until it has been clicked by the user. So if this slide should not pause, you need to configure the buttons so they don't pause. Look at the properties panel to change this behavior. Cheers... Rick

In addition to Rod's most excellent replies here, I can't help but to notice a glaring difference. What was said was: We already have a successful HTML5 Video appthat is cross browser... Then what was said was: We just wanted Captivate interactive features to add to it. So you were successfully focusing on a single feature. Video playback. Then you wanted to add all sorts of "interactive" features. And that bit right there is the crux of the matter. Each feature that is used may add a dimension of its own with certain browsers supporting the feature, others partially supporting it and even others simply ignoring it. Cheers... Rick

Hi Cindy Indeed WebHelp does have a search mechanism. The main differences are this: In HTML Help you are working with a single compiled file. If your project has 200 topics, you still have a single file with a CHM file extension that has all 200 topics inside. In WebHelp, it's uncompiled. So you have 200 individual topic files (and many other constituent files) that live in a file system. Typically on a server. Cheers... Rick

Hi there If you want to link to them, you need to use the "Open URL or File" option. But I might think that would be a bit problematic, as there may be no video player associated and the user might just end up with a download link. A better option would be to insert them as videos on different slides or inside Rollover Slidelets. Cheers... Rick

Hi there You do it in the Screen Profile. Oh, and you don't actually assign tags there. What you assign (or define) is the Build Expression. Tags are defined elsewhere. Cheers... Rick

If Colum's suggestion doesn't work, perhaps you might consider using JavaScript to perform a document.write() would? Just a thought... Rick

I suggest you scrap things and start fresh. With the new project, pause briefly at any dialogs you encounter along the way. They provide options for how the content is dealt with. For example, you should see an Edit button on the right side of the Import dialog that presents a world of opportunities that allow you to better control what you get. Cheers... Rick

Hi there Is this a straight import, bringing Word content into an existing project? Or are you instead creating a project by importing Word? Sounds like you have omitted the rather critical step in the process where you choose how the Word document is handled when it is imported. But before we can guide you further, we need to know exactly how you are bringing the content in. Cheers... Rick

In that case this discussion should have been initially posted in the RoboHelp for Word forum category. I'll now move it there so the few users that may be able to help might see it. Part of the issue with using RoboHelp for Word is that the user base for it is in a great (and shrinking daily) minority. As the base shrinks and folks move away from it, tribal knowledge dwindles as an inevitable result. Cheers... Rick

Hi Stuart At any point have you had a second monitor attached? If so, it's quite possible that the dialog is indeed opening, but was last opened on the second monitor. In that case you need to either make your resolution large enough so that you see the dialog sitting in the odd location or re-connect the second monitor so you may then view the dialog and drag it back to the visible area of the screen. Cheers... Rick

Hi there Unfortunately I believe the manner in which files such as PDF are opened is entirely up to the settings for each computer and each browser. You will likely see that if you are on a web page, opening a PDF from a link there will also have the same reaction. The problem here is that when we display things such as Captivate from web pages, we deal with a world of unknowns. We often haven't the faintest clue which browser or even which version of a browser our viewer will be using. We have no idea which version of a Flash Add in or ActiveX control will be in use. We have no idea what version of the PDF reader is installed. Cheers... Rick

Hi there I'm not posting to say "well all you have to do is..." but I do see something that might work for you. You stated that RoboHelp adds: <rhignored? = "text to be ignored".> So it strikes me that you might dabble in the source code a tad and just manually use that code to surround your code block. What I'm unsure about, however, is if RoboHelp will respect it and leave it alone when you return to the Design view. Oftentimes we see RoboHelp behaving like a four year old where it tries to "help you out" by making unwanted changes that way. Cheers... Rick

Hi Robert This is what happens when a small amount of time isn't allowed in order for things to "settle" before enabling it. The standard "fix" is to insert a blank slide at the beginning and configure it for perhaps .1 or .2 seconds. once you do that, the CC should be fully visible and function normally. Cheers... Indeed it can be done by right-clicking the TOC items and choosing Properties. From there choose the Advanced tab and you will see options. This only works if Microsoft HTML Help has been configured as the Primary Layout. Cheers... Thanks John, indeed I was en route to the recording studio for miss Stephanie. Leah, in addition to what John offered I'll also add this. When you examine the properties for the WebHelp, look at the Navigation category on the left. The skin may not be an option for you if you have enabled the "Section 508" option as shown below: If that's the deal and you clear the option, you will again have an ability to choose a skin. To re-order the toolbar buttons, choose the button to be moved and use the Up/Down buttons. Cheers... Hello again In order to open a window sized to your project size, you will need to have some JavaScript knowledge. There are no parameters for the Flash Object you will be manipulating. Instead, whatever the link is that you use will need to factor in some JavaScript that causes the window to size appropriately. Cheers...
