I've created/updated some scripts before but not as complicated as this one. I figured I can copy a line form the script however when I did that nothing happened. This form has multiple parts and each part has 1 general comment ("txt_" field at the top and then multiple lines of radio buttons, textfield, text field per line. Items that start with "c_" are radio buttons while "tb_" and "tcomment" are text fields. I want to add "txt_" in the script but since this is just 1 field per part I know I need to remove this "." + i in the line what I will copy. Can I message you in private so I can show you my script?

Somewhat of a newbie when it comes to document level scripts..
I have a document level script "GenerateSection" that needs to be updated. I need to include fields that start with "txt_" so that I can include it in another document level script named "GenerateAllSectionsSummary".

So it looks like I needed to give the button time to process the scripts to capture all data in one field. Your tip of adding the doc level scripts to the merged file worked. I mentioned that 1st pages of form A and B are somewhat the same in content and fieldnames but apparently there are items in form B page 1 that aren't in form A. That's why part B also isn't working properly in the merged file even though I added the doc level scripts of form B to the merged file. The missing fields are needed for the form B scripts to function. What I did to resolve this is to copy the missing fields and add it in the 1st page of the merged file. Problem solved. Okay. I tried what you said. Combine the 2 forms and then copy and add the doc level scripts of form B to the merged one. Is that all I need to do? I added all of the scripts but part 2, or part form B, in the merged file still isn't working. Are there other reasons why the scripts aren't working?

Are you saying that I combine the 2 forms. Delete all the fields, save it and then manually copy all the fields from another saved copies of the forms? Will that delete the original doc level scripts?

I think the original creator of the forms used document level functions. A message pops up that I need an external editor to edit the javascripts. I am able to edit the javascript in document level though.

Form A (14pages) and Form B (9pages) are 2 different forms. Both first pages almost have the same fields/content and same the fieldnames. The rest of the pages have unique fieldnames. In the combined form I will need to delete the 1st page of form B. Both forms have javascript codes in them. Almost all of the codes are just for grabbing data from different fields and consolidating it to one. So imagine 300 items that each have checkboxes (X, Y, Z) and dropdown/text fields. Depending on what item was checked, it will show up in 2 possible summary fields. A summary box for Item X and another one for Item Y. For items that Z are selected they don’t have to appear in any of the 2 summary fields. It is very complicated.... No calculation in terms of numbers and dates just codes for grabbing data from other fields.

I have 2 working fillable forms (form A & form B) that need to be consolidated to 1. The end result isn't working properly. When I open form A and add form B, fields of form A are the only fields that are working. Fields from form B aren't working. If I open form B and then add form A, fields from form A aren't working. I tried using 2 software in combing the 2 forms, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and iSkysoft PDF Editor. An error that says "An incorrect structure was found in the pdf file" pops up when I used Adobe and all the fields regardless if from form A or B aren't working. Then I used iSkysoft to combine the 2 forms, tried it out using Adobe, only half of fields are working. My question now is how do I identify the root of the error and can this be fixed? I must say that I already checked if the forms have same field names and that I have already changed the field names of the duplicates. Is there a way to get a list of all the field names in a form? I may need to check the both forms again just to be sure. Thanks in advance.

That's why. I finally got it to work. Last scenario though, if the form is new, is it possible for the summary to be blank instead of showing all the categories, subcategories etc...? And if the user skips answering any of the items, it won't show in the summary? Example the user skipped answering Building- item 2, Building - Item 2 will not show whil the rest of the answered items will reflect.

Is this all going to be in the summary text field? I edited the script and I messed up. It did show something but the the result got jumbled. Here's how it looked like. Only Plumbing appeared, the radio options are correct however the selected items in the list boxes show the result of Item 1 - Building in all 3 items..

I have a form that contains different categories, subcategories and a summary section. Per item, users must choose 1 from 3 radio buttons (A,R & N/A), and select an option in a list box. Users can select multiple items in the list box if they need to. The form looks like this. I want the Summary box to contain the category name, sub category name, selected radio button option, selected items and the general comments section. I know the script on how to populate a textbox with the selected items in a list box, but that's just for one item only and not multiple list boxes. Here's how I want the summery box to look like based on the selected items in the image.. Building Item 1 - A Detailed Item List: B, C, D Item 2 - R Detailed Item List: 3, 4 Item 3 - R Detailed Item List: 9 Mechanical Item 1 - N/A Detailed Item List: W, E Item 2 - A Detailed Item List: A1, A2 Item 3 - R Detailed Item List: B2, B3 Plumbing Item 1 - A Detailed Item List: C1, C2 Item 2 - R Detailed Item List: D1 Item 3 - N/A Detailed Item List: P General Comments Sample text. I'm not sure if this is the easiest way to do this, to use list boxes. Or check boxes is the way to go. I can add all the items and just put check boxes beside every option. Yes, I changed the Javascript codes as well. I may have missed some since there are plenty of fields. Is there a way to know the specific fields that causes the error or I have to do it manually?

I was tasked to rename some textfields, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdown fields in a working Fillable form. The only thing I did was to add prefixes to the original name and update the javascript codes of fields (replace old field names with new ones). I got a feedback saying that only a few of the calculations work and majority isn't working anymore. I didn't create this form and haven't used it even once. How do I identify what went wrong and what fields to look at? Thank you in advance.

Gotcha. This script worked however, I needed to delete the default value "Comment -#:".. We need to have that in every comment field though. So users know that they can type in a comment per box. If I don't delete the default value then it will look like this. Any idea on how to make that happen? Still have the "Comment -#:" per comment field but it won't duplicate in the summary if it has content and it won't show up if comment field wasn't used.

Might be another stupid question but the current field names of my comment fields are t_1, t_2, t_3, t_4 etc. Should I change the names in order for this code to work?
