I'm not sure how to reply to this but here I go. Yes Alt+242 is the Windows keyboard shortcut to generate codepoint. It finally worked and stayed. I save it twice and now it is staying.

I know this is an old post but I hope someone will look at it. I don't have a issues with inserting ≥ in my document. I do this by holding down the Alt key and typing 242. But after I save the file and reopen it I get a ? where it was. Am I doing something wrong saving it or what?

OK, I have a document with over 300 pages. I am added images to a lot of this. The orignal document had most of the images centered. The customer doesn't like most of these and wantes them moved to the side cloest to the binding. No problem moving them. Now for the problem. The figure numbers stay in the center of the page. Is there a way to link them to stay with the anchored frme centered under it and move with it to the side closest to the binding with having to add a test frame to each anchored frame?

I changed my headings from Chapters to Sections. Now only the first section will come up when I try to create a TOC. I have Imported all formats from the first section to all the rest.
What am I missing?

I know this was easy years ago and it should be today. I want to publish a book to PDF with bookmakes on the side of the PDF file that has each chapter listed with a hyperlink. I just can't remember where to set this up. Please someone point me in the right direstion.

I have inherated book files that have as many as 72 master pages. Some of these pages have similar names. An example is there are 6 TOC master pages. I want to remove all Masters not ebing used. Then Import only the page formates I'm using. Question, is there a way to delet all these from each Doc file at one time?

I apologize for the slow delay. Yes I am using 2022 Version: 16.0.4.1062. Strange resolution. I closed everything and rebooted the computer, and it all works fine. I’m thinking that part of the issue was memory. I had a lot of programs open. So I think mk-will may be on the right track with resetting resolution.

That is exactlly what I'm trying to do. I have three long lists that I need to put in a table. The first is numbers, the second is an ON or OFF, and the third is an explaination. So I want to enter the number then hit tab and have my curser drop to the next lower cell and just jump to the next cell across.

I don't know if this is possiable but her we go. I have a manual that ahs been updated many times. Soome of the documents in the manual are years old and there are several versions. I want to export/copy the list of documents and put them in Excel to sort and then clear some of these files. Does anyone know how to copy this list and put it in an excel file?

I don't have any idea on how to do that type of thing. For the amount of work I do on FM i'm not sure it would be worth it. Most of my time is technical training design. I use FM only because our tech manuals was written in it and I can extract information easy. I do appreciate all the input form the community.

Unforunatly none of these outside scripts will work for me. Since this is a company computer and is lock so I can't add anything to it. I must use programs that are in FM. I guess I will just need to delete, delete, delete.

You bring up a good point. A lot of these documents I am working with were created in older versions of FM and they were create overseas. They have been stored on several cloud systems and transfered several times. I think over the next few days I will create a new file from scratch and see if I can create working varables. Thanks for the bulb going off.

I open the Master page, click on the variable, click on Varables in my menu. The Page number varable is in Pink. I go to the top and click on the pen to edit the varable. I remove the definition and retype <$curpagenum> and click update. Next I go in and delete the varable out of the Master Page and reinert the varable and It doesn't work. Now as LinSims posted. I did import all formats from a working page from a different book and it works. The exact same format.
