Styles were created in the Word document. I knew this, and I also knew that the conversion would not pick up that style but my assumption was in the unstructured FM, that I would be able to create the same type of default for the numbers list so that when the auto-number was generated, it would create a default space. There are multi-level lists in the Word document but this particular list was a single level. If you look at the graphic I added in the picture, you can see that the lists on the right have the same left margin but the number (10) auto populates and the space is autogenerated between the number and the words when you hit the enter button. That is what I assumed I could do in FM.

Ok, so here I thought there was the ability to create a default space and when you went to your next auto number it would apply that space automatically. We are converting some files from Word and they import ok but the space issue exists for all the auto numbers in the steps. It gets progressively worse when it gets to three numbers. I really wanted to avoid having to touch each step.

I am sure this is an easy fix but I am struggling on how to figure it out. I am using FM 2015 64bit. The image below, the left side the auto number (10) does not automatically adjust its space relative to the text like the one on the right side does, that one is from Microsoft Word. I am sure there is a setting somewhere but I can not find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Framemaker 2019 64 bit with update 1 installed still crashing when I try to import any graphic. Same FM also crashes if I try to pdf any document. I have run through all the traps that I am aware of. Changing the 15 file to 15_old and launching. Yes, FM was installed using Admin rights. I am dead in the water on two separate machines. I have another user who does not have update 1 installed and he can pdf documents but he also has the crashing issue when trying to import documents. This has been a persistent issue since the original install 4 months ago. I've been in touch with Adobe but I have no resolution. Just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues with 2019 update 1.

We were having crash issues with 2019, mostly around importing files but pdf generation was working. Now, after Release 1 just selecting the "save as pdf" option, FM immediately crashes with no notification. Also, any attempt to import a graphic, using the icon, using the "file import" option or dragging and dropping causes FM to crash as well. No notification, it just closes.

Thank you Barb, kinda strange because I went into My FM directory and renamed the “15” folder to “15old” relaunched FM and the button was back. Hey Barb So I couldn't find any subjects that talk about this but I have recently installed Adobe FrameMaker 2019 on my machine and a few others in my group and a couple of us are missing the "Next Page" arrow at the bottom where the pages are identified. As you can see the back arrow is there (next to 16), but not the forward arrow. I can not find a setting for this and was wondering if I just needed to copy some .ini files from a user whose button is there or is this an install issue?? Its not a huge issue but I was just curious if you had seen this before. Thank you for your help.

Hi Barb, Thank you for your response. Yes our IT group pushes out the same patches and we are current. I've had other "weird" issues so maybe I just need to get it reinstalled. Incidentally, Ctrl+S works and saves the backup with the same date as the working file, its just the silly save icon where I have the issue. Thanks again, Richard

I am working in FM15 and I work in a group of other writers that also have FM15. My particular issue is, when I have a file open, and I select the save icon, it only saves the file, the backup file is not updated. But, if I go into File<Save, then both files update. My cube mate, when he has a file open, and selects the save icon, both his file and backup update. I've gone through all the settings I am aware of and looked online for a solution but I can not find anything. I have Automatic Backup on Save selected along with Auto Save Every 2 minutes. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks Richard
