Acrobat reader has just updated on m ywindows 10 machine. When printing using microsoft print to PDF it is now adding random black boxes to some pages where it didn't before. Is there anyway of getting rid of this. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it still happens. I need this option as I have to fix personal dynamic stamps to stop them being deleted. It has now become a big issue as I'm being stoppepd doing my work.

    Hi

Adobe Acrobat and Reader official update (19.008.20074) containing the fix for some printing related issues is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates.

More information about this release is here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

Please try it out and let us know if it fixes your issue.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So far so good, all printing using Microsoft print to PDF is working with no random black boxes appearing. Many thanks for the quick work as this has saved me a lot of time.

    Hello Fazerman,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with the Adobe Acrobat. Are you trying to print as Microsoft PDF or Print/Save as Adobe PDF?

The record shows that you are not subscribed to Acrobat license/subscription. So assuming you are using the freeware Adobe Reader desktop application and using Microsoft's Save As PDF option.

This is a feature of Microsoft and Adobe does not have any control over this. As correctly mentioned by Aandi as well that Adobe never recommended and supported this feature.

If you have Acrobat, you can use Print to Adobe PDF or Save as Adobe PDF.

What is the current dot version of Adobe Reader installed? To identify, refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.

My version number for Acrobat Reader DC is 2019.008.20071

Prior to the update I have had no issues with using the Microsoft print to PDF feature as this was the only way of fixing my custom dynamic stamp so it could not be alterred. I need this feature as I authorise certification and need to add the stamp as verification. I am not allowed to fill and sign or add a certificate as that can alter other aspects and my company does not allow that.

Therefore I would need to roll back to the previous version but am unable.

    Hi Fazerman,

As mentioned by AnandSri, Adobe Reader DC does not have any control over Microsoft Print to PDF. This continues to be the case even with the Adobe Reader's latest update.

Adobe have never supported or recommended printing PDF to PDF, it has always been considered a very bad thing. Just got worse, unfortunately.
