Acrobat Reader will not open, nor will it open PDF's

Acrobat Reader suddenly stopped opening PDF's.  Then I noticed that the program itself would not open.  So I uninstalled it using the Windows Uninsstaller and relaoded.  Same thing.  Then I uninstalled it using the Acrobat Eraser, and reloded it.  Same thing. Then I thought that it may be a conflict with Avast, so I uninstalled Avast.  Now, when I try to open a PDF or the Program itself, it gives me the following Error message:  "Windows cannot find C:\Program Files\(X86)\Adobe\ Acrobat Reader."    Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
