adobe acrobat please connect to the internet and retry

I am trying to convert PDF files and since buying the conversion product I am unable to covert I keep getting the error "adobe acrobat please connect to the internet and retry"

Please help. I am on a works computer.

    I've re-downloaded Adobe Acrobat and again pdf'd an original document and tried to open it.  The screen goes black for a second and then the error message re-asserts:  a connection to the internet is needed.  Which I have. It looks like Adobe is trying, but not succeeding in making the connection. I'm on a MacPro, have been for a very long time, am in the same space with the same wifi connections, and never had a pdf problem before. Can anyone help me to the next step?  Thanks much.

    Hi Ap,

    In addition to Bernd Alheit, could you confirm the application you are using to export pdf? If its Adobe Acrobat, download Adobe Reader using this link: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions , go to tools and search for Export PDF.

    You may also export pdf online at this link: https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf

      I thought this was the case originally. I did try doing it at home but still didn't have any joy. Downloaded the correct Acrobat version for laptop and it worked.
