Hello

its been a few weeks now that we have been having issue with Adobe DC reader v19.012 version. We access web outlook via Internet Explorer browser and at times cannot open an attached PDF document. Sometimes it works and sometimes only works after a reboot of the system.  In addition we cannot view any online pdf as the application error states that " Adobe is running, please close and try again (523:523)".

This has been going on for a month now and I hope the new update would fix this issue but it has not same thing. Adobe opens intermittently.

This is really frustrating to out users and I am trying anyting to get this resolve. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I have already try that and this did not work. This is workaround is for an older version of adobe which I believe was resolved in the next release

Hi Mark,

Apologies for the delay in response, I hope you would be able to fix it by now.

If the problem still persists, please try to update the application to the latest version 19.12.20036. Go to Help > Check for updates. To know more about the latest version available please refer to the link - DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products

Let us know if that works for you.

Regards,

Amal

Hi Mark,

Try this link: Adobe reader stop working Error (523:523)

Several threads have said that disabling Protect Mode has solved this error.

It looks as if you may have two different apps fighting for control of opening the pdf. You might try to uninstall and then reinstall Reader so that it becomes the default PDF reader app. Out of curiosity, what OS are you running that you still run MSIE. MSIE has been put out to pasture by nearly everyone including MS.

Not sure I understand what you mean. I used the Adobe cleaner to remove the app and reinstalled once we had this issue. The issue came back once the Adobe app got updated to 19.012.20034

All my PCs are Windows 10.1703

Thanks
