Question

Adobe Reader not closing open pdf's

I have an issue on a Windows 2008 Terminal server with PDF's.  We have an application that generates reports in pdf form.  My user will open the pdf on the terminal server in latest version of Adobe reader, save it to shared drive and then close Reader.  She will then go to her local desktop to work with the PDF.  We are finding that the pdf is staying open and the file locked in the TS session.  This keeps her from working with the pdf with operations like overwriting it.  If we clear the locked file from the file server it will work one time until locked again.  I have updated Adobe reader, rebooted the server, etc no help.  Any ideas?

    Hi jasone26034190,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

Could you please try the steps given in the following links:

Reader 10.1.1 on W2k3 TS - process not closing

Adobe Reader Keeps running after closing application (Acrobat Reader)

Please confirm the version of Reader running on the machine.

    Thank You,

    Shivam

This is not exactly my issue. Something seems to be keeping the pdf’s locked after being viewed in Adobe Reader.
