    Hi ac4905079,

Please try to follow below mentioned steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1- Restart the machine and try again.

2- If that doesn't work, try creating a new user account and launch Reader from there. Please visit this link on how to: Set up users, guests, and groups on your Mac

3- If new user account doesn't work, try rebooting your computer into safe mode:  Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

4- If step 3 doesn't work, try uninstalling Reader from Applications folder- you can directly delete the application from Applications folder, that is just trash /Applications/Adobe Reader.app.

This may cause a break in Safari functionality to read PDF files using Adobe Reader plugin.

To resolve this, go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/  and remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

5- Restart the computer and install Reader DC from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution  (select the operating system, language, and version from the drop-down options on the downloads page)

Please keep us posted with the results.

    Thanks,
    Shivam
