blocked plug-ins Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hi

I recently downloaded Reader DC for Safari and since then I have been unable to read any PDFs online. I simply get the message blocked plug-in. I've checked my security preferences in Safari and all plug-ins are enabled.  This is really frustrating as I work from home and it is preventing me from doing my job properly. Please can anyone from Adobe or the Adobe community help?  many thanks
