can't download installation file

I have screwed it up somehow. I wanted to update my Adobe Reader but something went wrong so I was recommended to uninstall the version I had and download a new one. When I did that I got an error message that I already have a newer installation program so I couldn't download another one.

The problem is that I can't find that newer installation file on my computer. Does someone know what the name could be so I can search for it on my computer.

Please help! I really need Adobe reader.

Hello Evah,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with the installation of Adobe Reader. Are you on a Windows 7 machine? If yes, please reboot the machine once and check for any pending updates of Windows from Control Panel>Windows update. Install the updates and reboot the machine again.

Update the C runtime file in Windows and reboot the machine, refer to the following URL to obtain the Windows update https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

You may also refer and try the suggestion from the help article Error 1722 while installing/updating Acrobat DC/Acrobat Reader DC on Windows

Reboot the machine and try installing Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,
