Can you give us more info on what you are trying to do and what is happening? I'm not sure what you mean by "convert a font to Reader" Reader doesn't convert, create or edit pdf files.

Thanks for the response. I created a document in Word, then I converted the Word document to a PDF when I saved it. When I opened the PDF document under Acrobat Reader, one of the font styles (Baris Cerin) did not transfer from the Word document to the PDF document. I would like to keep the same font (since it is the headline font), and I am curious if there is a way to do that. Let me know any thoughts. And thanks again for speedy reply!

    Hello Geno,

We're sorry for the trouble you had, Dave correctly mentioned that Adobe Reader is a freeware desktop application and it cannot create/edit PDF files.

Assuming you are using Microsoft's “save as PDF” function to save the Word document to PDF and this is a Microsoft functionality as I have checked the records with your current Adobe ID(email address) and there is no subscription/license of Acrobat Pro and this could be the reason that Font styles are not transferring to the PDF.

You may try selecting an option in Adobe Reader's Preferences from Edit>Preferences>Page Display>Rendering>Select "Use local fonts" and see if this brings any difference.

If you want to convert the word document to Adobe PDF, you have to subscribe to Acrobat or Document Cloud subscription/license.

For detailed information, you can refer to Adobe article Adobe Document Cloud FAQ

Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
