Digital Signature error

While performing Digital Signature using certificates getting the following error

"There was an error when attempting to commit this signature.The document was not saved.

This operation is not permitted"

Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2019.021.20058

Do we have any root cause for this issue and the necessary remediation steps
