Disabled Navy Veteran can't use Read Out Loud

Hi

I;m a disabled Navy veteran that needs to uas adaptive services like Read Out Loud do to poor eyesight

caused prematurely due to an injury while serving for 22 years. When I go to use it I hear nothing and or it stop responding until

I deactivate it. I have installed uninstalled used repair used the cleaner program and reinstalled as directed and still nothing I'm

currently studying at college and I need this function to work because of my disabilities I am given my books in PDF form and can not use the read out load

function because it is not working I am now 5 chapters behind and on the verge of failing this course. Please can you help this Veteran

    It's hard to nail down an exact cause because it could be anything but the most common cause is because the PDF has been created from a scanned item and hasn't had any character recognition run on it. So in other words, there is no text for read out loud to read. It's just an image.

    You can check that by using the select tool and trying to select an individual word. If it selects more than that word (like the entire page) then that is it. Unfortunately, nothing can be done with the free Reader software. The creator of the file would need to fix it or you would need the full paid-for version of Acrobat to do it yourself.

    Hi thank you for getting back to me I don't beleave that is it at all I had

    to get a 3rd party screen reader to read the

    PDF right in the Adobe program (NAVDA) is the app What happens is that when

    ever I deploy the read out loud function Adobe stops responding then

    freezes then I have to use task manager to close it
