Find Function not Finding Existing words

Hi!  Looked through the community questions on this and couldn't seem to find an answer or anyone with the exact same problem.  If it exists then I apologize.  My find function seems to sometimes say words do not exist in a document when they do.  Not an every document problem but some documents do have this problem.  Wanted to attach a document to this post but does't seem to be possible.  Looking at other posts I think I did this correctly.  If not please let me know.  https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/36c11ef3-aeed-4158-86a4-217c605845db

Shared Files - Acrobat.com

VLP, peptide, and caspid all appear in the pdf of this patent but using find does not "find" them.

It seemed to work yesterday on other documents but now I am questioning if it did or not.  I am using Version of Reader DC 2017.012.20095.

Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

My .PDF document has been downloaded from the internet and it is not an image because I can select, copy and paste any word into it and my Reader DC does not find any words.

Sorry to break it to you, but this file also contains only images. You should be able to select and copy text from it, not into it.

Hi,

The file appears to be a scanned file and the free Adobe Reader does not provide optical character recognition (OCR), so unfortunately find won't work on the images.

If you have the paid version of Adobe Acrobat you can use the Enhance Scans / Recognize Text tool to convert the images to text, and then find will work.

I have the same problem but in my case, Reader DC does not find any words in any document! I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it does not work at all, it does not find any terms!

The file linked to above is composed of an image, without actual text, so Reader can't find anything in it.
If you can't select a piece of text with the mouse, copy it, and then paste it in another application and have it come out correctly, then you also can't find it in Reader.
