having trouble installing acrobat reader dc

I have ran the cleaner, deleted folders (program files/program data/adobe), restarted, used both chrome and firefox fully updated, ran as admin, and I still receive 'newer version already installed' at 90% installation.

This started after uninstalling my Acrobat DC Pro full 7 day trial. now i cannot install reader on my win7 machine. Thats about everything.

Hi,

Could you please let us know your OS?

Similar issue is seen on OS Win 7 if SP1 is not installed. If you are on Win 7, ensure you are on OS greater than Win 7 SP1.

If you are on OS Win 8.1, please ensure following Microsoft Updates are applied : https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2919355/windows-rt-8-1-windows-8-1-and-windows-server-2012-r2-update-april-201

If you are still facing this issue, can you see if you can install Microsoft Universal C Runtimes as described here - https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

and, then try installing Reader DC. Let us know if this resolves your issue.

Thanks,

Karan
