How to enter a horizontal tab in a text field

How can a tabular stop (horizontal tab) be inserted when editing a text field? When hitting TAB key on a windows keyboard, the next field will get focus. In all kind of text processors, like MS Word, TAB can be used for inserting a tabstop. Is it possible to enter a tabstop in an editable text field in Abobe Reader?
