Question

inserting signature problems

I have reader XI, version 11.0.11.

I am trying to insert a signature, but I am doing something wrong and need to start from scratch.

When I click on place signature in pdf document, it keeps asking for a digital file...I want to insert a scanned pdf file of the signature. It won't upload that file, not highlighted.

I just cannot work it out what to do.

Thank you.

The add uses a system that requires a coded digital signature certificate that is shared with the recipient of the "signed" document so the validity of the file and signer can verified by the receiver of the file. This procedure has been set by many local and international laws. This certificate can have an image of the signature but also includes additional date like the date, time, and reason for the signature. The use of this certificate is recognized as a legally binding signature for contracts and other legal documents.

If you want to use an image of signature, very poor security, create a custom stamp of the signature image.

Thank you. Not sure I want to go through all that, it is just for tax purposes, I do get what you are saying though. It worked before, something must have changed.

I agree with you Jana.  I do NOT NEED compliance with all these stupid laws...all I need is to put signatures on personal documents.

ADOBE:  How do I do that now that you have screwed around and messed it up?

Am I going to have to get one the the pdf knockoff apps?
