Question

Install Reader on new iMac

Hey all,

I'm stumped.  We have a brand new iMac with Catalina

I'm trying to install Reader (2000920063) and receive an error:

Nothing I try seems to get this installed.   I thought because we had transferred some things over from an older mac to this one there must be a conflict somewhere.  I can't find anything in finder or Activity Monitor that is related to Adobe though and the cleaner tools say nothing is installed.

So, I tried to install Acrobat Pro.  I receive an error P81 that says an installer is already running (even after reboots and full restarts).

I've lost a bit of hair to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can't transfer program files from one system to another.  It never works and often causes problems.

Catalina supports only 64-bit apps.  32-bit uninstallers won't run on your OS.  So you must manually remove those files with the Adobe Cleaner Tools.

After cleaning off old files, restart your computer before installing new software.
