Installation and connection problem -- won't re-install

  1. Acrobat DC installed a new version, automatically as I recall.
  2. I started up the Reader and the sign on screen appeared. It didn't recognize me, using the same credentials used to write this question. It then gave me repeated CAPTCHAs.
  3. Once I got through the CAPTCHAs I got the to the Start Tour Screen.
  4. the Reader froze and then crashed.
  5. All that happened repeatedly.
  6. I decided to uninstall/reinstall. I uninstalled.
  7. Downloaded the Installer, but it won't install, claiming it is installed. And that's where it is now.
  8. I would go through the Registry and delete stuff, but I'd rather just find a different PDF reader.

The only anti-virus system I have is Windows Defender. I'm just a little old home user.
