Internal Error Has Occurred

I am using the Adobe Reader DC program.

Yesterday I received an error message while trying to transfer PDFs from DropBox to my computer. "An internal error has occurred".

Per the trouble shooting steps, I uninstalled and tried to reinstall the program and was not able to reinstall.  The installation starts and then says "Warning" and has options to Skip Install or Retry.  Since I was unable to reinstall I ended up doing a system restore from an earlier date on my whole computer.  Fast forward to this morning and the restore was complete and asked for a restart.  Upon restarting I received the following message from Adobe "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource file.  You must have administrator privileges to install these files. Please contact your local system administrator."

I am the administrator on the computer.  No changes were made to my computer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Considering that no changes were made to my system prior to the first error that I received, I am very confused as to why this just started happening.

Thanks!

Kristi

I still have yet to receive a response to my original question that I posted a week ago.  Adobe customer service said that a response should be received within 24 hours.  It is very frustrating to have Adobe stop working when no changes have been made to my computer.  I work in an office and it is very important for me to have access to PDFs.

    Will someone please help?

    Thanks.
