Issue with new (ish) update

I have been using a free version of adobe for years to view PDF files and put stamps on plans. I have no idea what version it was.

I just went to check for updates and it installed DC version. Now I cant do anything without paying.

I have urgent work (self employed) that I need to do but now it seems I cant go back.

I have tried uninstalling it and installing others but they all seems to go back to DC or something else I need to pay for.

PLEASE HELP as this is going to make me lose clients by not being able to deliver cause of some update I knew I shouldnt have done.....

Brian

    Adobe never had software to save a PDF as PNG for free. So let's see what you might have had. Or may even still have. Please, in Windows Explorer, go to C:\program files (X86)\Adobe. Please let us know all the folders you see in that Adobe folder.

    I didnt say I saved a PDF as a PNG file.

    I use a PDF and PNG File to stamp another PDF file.

    I did the above and only the following was there.

    • Acrobat Reader DC
    • Flash Player

    I have attached a copy of the stamping I do to see if that makes it clearer. So the plans are in PDF. The small square green image is PNG. The rectangle image is PDF.

    I put the two small stamps on the plans and then save a PDF.

    Or if someone could tell me what version I was using that would be awesome as well!

    Hi Brain,

    I assume you may have installed Acrobat Pro DC and that is a paid version.

    You still can use Reader DC and is a free application. And you can use above-mentioned features, you may check this link: Share, comment, and review in Adobe Reader DC

    Use this link to download and install Reader: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

    Let us know if that helps.

    Hi Tariq,

    I have downloaded that version.

    Can you tell me what part I can do that as when I go to the following this is what happens.

    * Stamp - doesn't recognise PDF file

    * Send for signature - asks me to upgrade

    * Fill & Sign - doesn't recognise PDF file

    * Send for comments - asks me to upgrade

    The two stamps I have to use to stamp on plans - one is a PNG file and the other one is a Adobe Acrobat Document but that isn't being recognised but the PNG on is.

    * Stamp - doesn't recognize PDF file

    About stamps, you may visit this link: Add a stamp to a PDF in Adobe Acrobat DC

    * Send for signature - asks me to upgrade

    That is paid service.

    * Fill & Sign - doesn't recognise PDF file

    Most likely the file is protected. To check if you allowed to use that on the file. Open file. Click File menu>Properties>Security tab. Check if you are allowed to make changes and sign the document.

    * Send for comments - asks me to upgrade

    That can be done using Acrobat not Reader.

    Let me know if that helps.
