My annotations change shape on iPad

The only way I can explain it is by attaching this photo: above image is what my drawing looks like when I'm editing and below is how it looks after. My main issue is that straight lines become curved, which is very annoying. Other times, the letter 's' warps completely, turning into '/'. 

Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
