"page setup" problem

The "format for" in page setup only shows "any printer." I've tried reinstalling printer with no luck. It used to work intermittently but not at all now. I am using Reader 9.5.5 with OSX 4.11 on a PPC G4 (only used as a print server). I have an old copy of Acrobat and it works there but the half tones are really light. Help!
