PDF files with embedded audio wav files no longer play

I have PDF files that are created with embedded wav audio files.  I started getting complaints from my customers that the audio no longer plays with the latest version of Acrobat Reader.  These PDF worked without issue with prior version but no longer play.  What has changed?
