We also have the same issues, Both runs in Apps: "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC" and in the processes, it runs 2x separate lines showing the same, "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC"

See this is odd as the process really only seems to run 1 of the processes and the other is just kinda there running. We have only opened a single PDF doc.

Also, this becomes 100% worse when we open the Adobe Acrobat DC as with our Creative Cloud Plan. This $14.99/mth package is great until we see the limitations it places on our CPU and then we end up having to be careful what we open while we use it.

1 App

5 to 15 processes

70% to 90 % CPU

We have a 4 gig Ram and a pretty good computer until we use things like Adobe.

    Hi expressmasters,

As per the issue description mentioned above, youa re facing issue with acrobat reader on the machine, is that correct?

Could you let us know dot version of reader and the operating system installed on the machine? You may refer to the steps given in this link on how to check the version in reader: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Also, try launching reader as an administrator and check if this behavior continues. Refer to the steps given in this link for the same: Run an Adobe program as administrator | Windows 7, Vista

You may also refer to the following forum threads discussing the similar issue:

30+ acrord32.exe open in task manager processes.

    Thanks,

My whole business is affected by this issue 60+ users. I have tried removal and reinstall as well as downgrading to older versions of reader with the same outcome. We keep everyone updated with the latest versions when they are released current version is (19.010.20069) we use a high volume of PDF's a day and some of our users would have over 70 acroRD32.exe active in their processes at one time even though no PDF's are open. This eats up almost the whole processor speed and ram causing all kinds of other issues. That you link two links from 3 and 4 years ago it appears your company does not really care about this issue. It is also concerning to me that this issue does not occur in Acrobat Standard (which is a paid product) Please fix the issue or advise us of a fix as this is becoming very frustrating for our users.
