How can I get Read Out Loud to read a highlighted (selected) word only and not the entire page?

As per the description above, I can understand that you want the "Read out Loud" to read a highlighted text only, Is that correct?

The feature of reading only the highlighted text is not yet available, however, you can file a feature request using the URL Feature Request/Bug Report Form

We will highly appreciate your input to request new features or suggest modifications to existing features

Can it read alt tags on images when you click the image? Thank you for your help.

Read Out Loud has the ability to tag a PDF temporarily if it is not already tagged and read it. You can refer to the following Adobe article for detailed information Accessibility features, Adobe Reader
