I only want to use DC Pro 2019 continuous for editing/organizing pdfs. It's too sloow opening documents most of the time for me to use for just reading pdfs.

Typically 5 to 10 seconds to open up docs that Reader or Pro 2017  would open in one or two seconds.  Windows 10 pro.

Most cloud options and special security turned off. A few add-ins.

Hours working with Adobe techs and i was told that my 5 to 10 seconds was normal opening speed for DC Pro 2019 for documents 3 pages to 400 pages on fast pc's with lots of resources.

I already had Pro DC continuous installed and thougtht i could just install Reader DC.  Nope.

I had to completely uninstal Acrobat  Pro using the cleaner tool  and to be sure also deleted program folders.

Then I installed Reader. Then Pro DC.  Have not installed any add-ins.

Reader DC and Pro DC 2019 co-existed fine until I installed the recent update to Pro.

Now Reader DC won't open. Have tried repairing it. Still won't open.  Pro DC works "normally"

usually, you install one or the other, but not both acrobat and reader.  with the latest releases some people have been able to install both but for anyone having trouble installing acrobat, uninstalling order versions of acrobat and uninstalling reader, then cleaning is the usual advice.

because you already have acrobat installed maybe there's a reliable way to install reader and have both work.
