Save fillable PDF to find all my work is GONE. HELP!

So I completed an assignment for my graduate program which required me to fill a PDF. Used Adobe Acrobat - worst mistake ever. I saved the PDF, thought all was fine and dandy, submitted my assignment. Then, I get an email from my professor that there is NOTHING in the form. WHAT!? Hours of work down the drain.

What gives, Adobe?

Also, its crap that I cannot call in to a support desk. This is very time-sensitive at this point.

Anyone have a magic solution for how I can recover the work I did, or am I royally screwed?

    You didn't say but, have you looked at your version of the form? Is the information there?

    Sorry for the questions, this normally happens when you use a non-Adobe product to fill in the form. The only time I've seen it happen using Adobe Acrobat was when it was a non-compliant form built by a third party tool.

    Did you actually open a file that was saved to your computer by opening Acrobat and using File>Open to open the pdf or did you open it by clicking on a link from a webpage or something else?
