Question

The Past Week, I Have Not Been Able to View PDF Files From My Bank, My Cell Phone Co., etc.

Whenever I go into my statements from any organization, I click on the pdf file and a gray page comes up without any information.  Windows 10 did a recent update, but this has been happening before the update.  I have removed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC several times, dome updates, and done a repair in the program.  I have done everything I can think of.  I use Google as my default browser and have gone into the settings to see if there was an extension for Adobe, but I didn't see one.  I removed all cookies about a week ago, so I don't believe the history and cookies are the problem.

After posting the same problem this afternoon, I did some more research.  I am using Windows 10 with Chrome as my default browser.  Just for kicks, I tried Microsoft Edge browser and all of my pdf documents would open up just like normal.  I then went back to Chrome to their Help area.  In looking around, I saw a discussion about this problem.  Google said to go to "Settings" and go to "Advanced".  Then under Privacy and Security click "Site Settings".  Near the bottom of this list click PDF Documents and then "Turn Off Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome".  I toggled the button and now all of the pdfs will open for me using Chrome just like they used to.  Hope this helps!

Dear edhines84, That suggested solution worked perfectly. Thank you so much for taking the time to post it. Other people experiencing that issue will be very thankful to you for researching that very frustration problem and posting a solution that works perfectly. So very frustrating when issues like this arise when they are not of our own making. Again, a million thanks, Regards, gibbo1946

I am having the same issues.  Most of my online bills will just go to the gray page crosbyexcel mentioned.  This has just recently started and is extremely frustrating.

I have also just experienced the same issue. I have deleted my old version of Adobe Reader and re-installed the latses version but the problem still exists. I have scanned a random document and Adobe seems to work fine and allows me to view, save and print the scanned document. Once I go back to downloading a current bank statement and click on the hyperlink just a grey page appears. Any suggestions?
