There was an error while reading the stream

I have Adobe Acrobat DC, it was just updated from the regular Adobe Acrobat Reader and ever since it updated to DC I get the error message "There was an error while reading the stream." I've checked for updates and done the repair installation, plus I've updated my scanner/printer's firmware but I still get the error and am unable to view my documents.
