Question

Unable to preview PDF when emailed from Acrobat Reader DC

Our account recievables/payables are using Windows 10 with the full version of Acrobat Reader DC.  When they email straight out of Acrobat Reader DC to users of MACs using Outlook 2016 and the user hits preview they get a blank screen.  When they download the file and then open it up in Acrobat Reader or Safari then they can see the document.

If the file is printed out to a file and then emailed then the MAC user is able to preview the file.  In the example that I tested with, when it was emailed directly out of the Acrobat Reader DC the file was 13K, but if the AP person prints it out and then emails it the size of the file is 83K.

Any ideas how to get the preview to work on the MACs or any way to control what Acrobat Reader DC emails out?

For the sake of time the preview would be ideal for end user.

Thank you,

Greg

Hi greg-drive,

Could you please confirm if you experience this issue only with Mac preview.

Have you tried to check mail received on Windows? Are you able to open attachment there without any issues?

Please share the dot version of Adobe Reader DC installed on your system.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Yes this is only on the MAC (but I didn't test the PC without Reader DC installed since all my window machines have DC installed).

PC works as it should.

I am able to open the PDF after the fact in Adobe Reader DC just cannot preview.

Adobe Reader DC Version 2015.020.20039

MAC OS: 10.12.1

Outlook Version: 15.28.1 (161117)

This is a Mac Preview issue. It has nothing to do with the way you or Reader are creating and emailing the documents.
