Unable to Print pdf files with adobe reader on macOS

Hello everyone

I'm having trouble with printing .pdf files on my mac, when i send the file to the printer i always receive this message:

"can't open: /private/var/spool/cups/tmp/44905bba2e9b"

I only have this problem when using adobe reader, but if i use any other program the pdf file prints just fine

i already tried:

removing adobe reader and reinstalling it again

creating another amministrator account

reinstalling the printer drivers

resetting the printing system

using the acrobat cleaner tool found on a thread in this forum

still, it does not work

please help, note that i'm using macOS 10.13.6, it worked just fine until yesterday
