Where can I find Acrobat Reader for new iPad and how do I install it?

I have never used Mac product, but recently bought new iPad.  I downloaded recent Mac versions of Reader, but they will not install.  No error msgs; simply no response on double-clicking downloaded file.  Hope someone can point me in right direction.

An iPad is not a Mac. There is only one place you can get iPad apps: Apple’s App Store. No iPad app can be downloaded from anywhere else. Mac apps cannot be used. The browser cannot be used.
