Why I cannot sign using Reader?

I am getting a nasty error on Reader, when I try to sign a document. I attemted to sign on 2 different computers, using windows 10 and the last Acrobat Reader and I got the same error: a dialogue pop up with no other letter than this: ț and no button for ok or cancel.

how was the document created?

Doesn't Reader require that the pdf have certain properties enabled in a document before it will attempt to sign it?

Maybe the PDF has a problem.
