Agreed. There seem to be a number of people in support who send people to the forums ANYWAY, even if the product is in support and the task is within their remit. I hope it's just a rogue element.

Very true. In addition, I don't think Adobe should deny users help with activation or serial-number issues, even if the product is no longer supported. If they sold the product they are required to make sure it can be activated or that a (valid) serial number be accepted by it.

I'm sure they can afford keeping the old activation servers active. And if they can't (or don't want to) they need to provide a version of the installer that doesn't require activation.

I have already been in contact with Adobe support. Since Acrobat 9 is not supported anymore I was directed to this forum.
