Purchased Acrobat IX Pro will not install, will not accept serial# or connect to internet

Trying to install for the first time Acrobat XI Pro. Have Win7 and will not accept serial # or validate.  Will not connect to internet and every other thing connects easily even Help Screen sites indicated on the program itself.  Tried everything I have read.  Irish
