Acrobat crashes constantly on two 10.6.8 iMacs

Everytime a PDF is opened with Acrobat, the program crashes instantly. I have done disk permission repairs, and plenty of other solutions, but it still does not work. Both iMac's run 10.6.8, and experience the issue in the same way.
