Question

High contrast all rejected

I tend to like high contrast, dramatic photography, especially with dark backgrounds.  I'm getting rejected on all those in favor of my bright but relatively dull (in my opinion) photos. The reason cited is artefacts.  Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong? I considered over manipulation but most of the rejected photos have less post processing manipulation such as above which was a camera filter.

I should elaborate. I didn't use an in-camera filter. It was a lens filter. All camera settings were normal.

I mean, there does seem to be quite a bit of dust/artifacts in the bottom right.

Thanks, I didn't notice that, it's the texture of the background but it does appear to be dust. I'm going to fix that and try it again.
