Specific, written guidelines needed re: Review Criteria for Acceptance
The completely arbitrary and capricious "review" process for newly-submitted stock photos needs full, clear, written guidelines that are then rigorously adhered-to by Adobe reviewers.
Virtually every post here is someone asking why something was rejected when there are no written criteria anywhere, and clearly, by repeated direct observation, no consistent pattern in the review process.
This really, really needs to stop. This is completely unacceptable, and completely beyond unprofessional.
In one case specific to photos I've submitted (and there are several others) I submitted two identical photos, one a 4:6 crop, another a 16:9 crop. Other than the crop aspect ratio the two photos were exactly identical -- they were *exactly* the same photo.
One was accepted, the other rejected as "doesn't have the aesthetic or commercial appeal we're looking for".
The two photos were identical.
Identical.
In the same upload I submitted other identical photos in those two crops and all of those -- almost two dozen -- were accepted.
It's really way, way past time for Adobe to get its act together on this one -- if it has any actual, sincere interest in bringing new photographers into the Adobe Stock program.
Of course, having purchased -- what? -- some 34 million images and videos when Adobe bought Fotolia, Adobe may not really care.
