Copy and Paste in Prototype (to preserve links) is unusably slow in latest update

Hello,

Working within Prototype mode has become nearly unusable since the latest update. Particularly, trying to copy and paste layers between artboards that have multiple prototype links.

Any time I try to copy and paste, Adobe freezes for about 20-30 seconds before the layer pastes. When I am trying to replicate this action for 50+ artboards, I have to spend a considerable amount of time waiting for XD to catch.

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro with Cataline 10.15.1

Please fix!

Hello David,

Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of this client project, I cannot share the document.

It is a very large dociment though. 125+ artboards with many many layers on each.

Is there any way to troubleshoot this without providing the file directly?

Hi Tyler,

Can you compare the time difference between copying the same object(s) in Design mode vs Prototype mode, to see if copy/paste in Prototype mode is slower than Design mode?

Also, you could try duplicating your file and then try to narrow down if the problem is specific to a certain artboard(s). In the duplicated file, delete half the artboards > test the copy/paste issue > then repeat again and delete half the artboards, etc.
