Adjusting flat images/videos to dome curvature for dome masters output

Hi everybody, I was wondering if with the VR immersive tools (mettle) we can have images or videos adapted correctly to the dome curvature. And if so, how. I saw this plugin which does that, where they insert a rather long image and then it is adapted correctly to the dome, as well as other more rectangle elements. Can somebdiy guide me or explain please. Thanks a ton!

Nope. VR is based on simple spherical projection, not the more oblong heterogenous projection types used for domes. Nor are there any specific tools to deal with slicing up the projection into suitable segemnts for multiple projectors and all the good stuff you typically need to deal with projections. Other than preparing the actual footage in its native square format, AE isn't going to give you usable output automatically. It realyl comes down to having the respective plug-ins and tools at hand or understanding how to massage the footage manually.
