ae 17.0.1 crashes when importing PSD file

after updating to 2020 Ae version V 17.0.1
I'm facing problem now !
ae crashed every time i import PSD File !
before update it was working fine !

    Delete all fonts from Fonts folder (you can copy they in new folder, than reinstall). It solves all problems.

    The only solution I could find is rasterize all the texts 😕😕

    Thanks! For the response. The latest versions have fixed this issue in AE.

    Downloaded your file and it opens just fine OSX 10.14.6 AE 2020 x 17.1.0. Make sure AE is up to date.

    I am having the same issue, I solved it that way:
    1- I rasterized all text layers
    2- I removed any transparencies or blending modes, making them in AE
    and it worked

      Yeah I know - but that is not a good practise for the pipeline. For now I am working in 2019 till this is fixed

        Yup! AE 17 crashes everytime when importing a psd. v16 it worked fine. Although it will sometimes crash when converting text to editble text in AE.

        same here. simple import of PSD with few layers  - one of them text, crashes AE 2020

        I didn't solve this, but here is what I found:

        If you create an empty PSD, it let's me import it.
        If I create text, it let's me import it.
        If I add "drop shadow" in blending mode for the text, AE crashes when I try to import.
        Even if I delete the "drop shadow" blending from the layer, AE crashes when I try to import.
        It's only when I delete the text layer altogether that AE doesn't crash when I try to import.

        Same! I found if the PSD text layer has an effect it will crash After Effects when importing or crash when opening a project from AE CC 2019 that has it already in the project. I just updated to the latest release and AE CC 2020 still crashes. Please fix ASAP.
