hey guys, why is my video in MP4 format, but the display type is QuickTime

Given that your layer icon is also a non-standard icon, we can only assume that whatever media player you installed usurped and messed up your system file associations and CoDecs, which is what AE derives this info from. Everything else would require actual info, which so far you haven't provided.
